While Red Hat grows 42% year over year, the Government remains the fastest growing vertical and Red Hat's best customer worldwide. Red Hat continues to make large investments to support the government, to include an extensive salesforce, cleared solution architects, and teams dedicated to business development, marketing and consulting services. The business development team has a specific focus on the System Integrator community, partnering to win large programs in the DOD, Civilian and Intel markets.
Due to IT budget constraints, pressures on CIO's to drive innovation and differentiation, new technologies fueling data center and application retooling, and the Open Source model changing IT economics in favor of the Government customer, SI's are expanding their solution offerings in proposal responses to include Red Hat Enterprise Linux, JBoss and MetaMatrix. SAIC recently created a line of business dedicated solely to Open Source technology to include Red Hat products, services, and support. With Red Hat's business development team for government, we continue to strengthen partnerships with system integrators including SAIC, Booz Allen Hamilton, SRA, Lockheed Martin, CSC, BAE, Raytheon, SI-International, Boeing, L3, General Dynamics, and others.
Red Hat is conducting a series of breakfast seminars for System Integrators. The next event in the series will be announced soon.
